Avon Arts Association Artist Of The Week: Donna Polaske

The Avon Arts Association will host its 47th Annual Arts & Crafts Show September 20-21. Every week we will feature one of the artists who will be exhibiting and offering their work for sale at the show.  

Donna is our fifth Artist of the Week.  Her work is offered through Jamie's Fused Jewelry.  She specializes in the use of dichroic glass which transmits different colors dependending on the angle and type of light.  Each design is hand cut, layered and then fused at 1600 degrees.  Donna has created over a thousand pieces and continually aims at expanding her wide variety of different and one-of-a-kind designs.  Donna started glass fusing over five years ago and constantly explores new possibilities.  She welcomes you to see these beautiful effects in person.

Artists and craftsmen may reserve a space now by going to our website and downloading an application at www.avonarts.org. Click on the calendar tab. Applications should include three pictures of the artist's or craftsman's works to be juried. Entrants will be notified of their acceptance within four weeks after receipt of their application. If not accepted, fees will be refunded.

Proceeds from the sale of show spaces will be used to support college scholarships for qualified high school art students from the Farmington Valley (Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury).
