Avon Arts Association Artist of the Week: Robert Blazek

47th ANNUAL ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW

The Avon Arts Association will host its 47th Annual Arts & Crafts Show September 20-21. Every week we will feature one of the artists who will be exhibiting and offering their work for sale at the show.  ROBERT BLAZEK is our featured Artist of the Week.  Mr. Blazek, a Connecticut resident, is a nationally known and well respected marine artist.  His work has appeared in sixteen books and numerous magazines, including American Artist and Palm Beach Illustrated.  He has won five international awards, among them the 1992 Mystic Seaport International Award, which was presented to him by Walter Cronkite.  His work was added to the Smithsonian Institute’s collection in 2006.  Mr. Blazek’s paintings are noted for their subtle realism and serenity.  He has been a long time participant in our show and we are delighted to have him returning as an exhibitor again this year.   To learn more about Mr. Blazek’s work, visit his Wikipedia page here.
Artists and craftsmen may reserve a space now by going to our website and downloading an application at www.avonarts.org. Click on the calendar tab. Applications should include three pictures of the artist's or craftsman's works to be juried. Entrants will be notified of their acceptance within four weeks after receipt of their application. If not accepted, fees will be refunded.

Proceeds from the sale of show spaces will be used to support college scholarships for qualified high school art students from the Farmington Valley (Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury).
