Avon Arts Association Artist of the Week: Silver Horse Arts
47th ANNUAL ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW
The Avon Arts Association will host its 47th Annual Arts & Crafts Show September 20-21. Every week we will feature one of the artists who will be exhibiting and offering their work for sale at the show. This week the featured artist is Silver Horse Arts.
The Silver Horse Arts studio produces decorative objects, furniture, murals, painted floors and stenciled rooms in the Early American tradition. Silver Horse works are treasured accessories in many Connecticut homes and have been featured at the former Hitchcock Museum in Riverton, Connecticut. Silver Horse artists will demonstrate and provide visitors an opportunity to try stenciling at the show. For examples of this work click on the accompanying photos in this post.
Artists and craftsmen may reserve a space now by going to our website and downloading an application at www.avonarts.org. Click on the calendar tab. Applications should include three pictures of the artist's or craftsman's works to be juried. Entrants will be notified of their acceptance within four weeks after receipt of their application. If not accepted, fees will be refunded.
Proceeds from the sale of show spaces will be used to support college scholarships for qualified high school art students from the Farmington Valley (Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury).
