[Original story] A portion of Mountain Road in West Hartford remains closed Thursday after an early morning, one-vehicle accident took down a utility pole.
According to a police officer on the scene, Mountain Road between Braeburn and Stoner will remain closed until at least noon, as utility crews look to replace the pole and restore cable, electric and phone service.
The officer said that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and was subsequently arrested in Bloomfield, although no additional information was available.
Detours are in place to reroute traffic. Those headed south on Mountain Road should turn off at Fern. Those headed north have to turn off on Braeburn.
