Zoning proposals for the 6-story Delamar Hotel will be discussed at a planning and zoning commission meeting tonight.

"Come out and participate," the hotel's FAQ site says. "We would appreciate your input and we would enjoy meeting you."

The town originally requested proposals in December 2012.

The hotel will be built on four acres of land on Raymond Road; it's been leased to the developers with an option to purchase in the future.

The hotel has been designed to meet the LEED gold standard of environmental responsibility and sustainability.

When Blue Back was first a consideration, I thought the town said this would be a park. Does anyone have any information on that?

That's what we thought, too. Somehow there has been little to no discussion of this. Can't make the meeting tonight, but someone(s) should be there to inquire!

You are absolutely correct Lisa. In my opinion the council was worried about getting Blue Back approved. A nice chip was the green space they would be creating from the old police parking lot. I think this hotel was a part of their plan from the start. Sad that it went down like this. They could have turned that space in to a family oriented park and had something really unique that the whole community could have enjoyed.
