Delamar Gets OK to Build Luxury Hotel in West Hartford

Plans to build a six-story luxury hotel and restaurant complex to be called the Delamar was approved by the West Hartford Town Council this week.

Groundbreaking for the $30 million project to be built by the Greenwich Hospitality Group that's partnered with the Matos Group to create the Delamar West Hartford LLC could happen this fall, according to The Hartford Courant.

According to the Greenwich Hospitality Group's website, "The Town of West Hartford has awarded Greenwich Hospitality Group the opportunity to develop a luxury boutique hotel, along with residences, on a four-acre (two acres are developable) site adjacent to the Blue Back Square development." The site is at Raymond and Memorial roads.

The West Hartford Planning and Zoning commission is scheduled to vote July 2 on whether to grant an outdoor dining permit for the hotel. If approvals go according to schedule, the hotel could open in 2016, according to The Courant.

The flagship Delamar is located in downtown Greenwich on Greenwich Harbor. In Connecticut, Greenwich Hospitality also operates the Delamar Southport and Hotel Zero Degrees in Norwalk.
