Raise a Glass for the Early Detection & Cure of Pancreatic Cancer at Stew Leonard’s

Kick off the holiday season by giving back!  Members of the community are invited to join the wine specialists from Stew Leonard's Wines of Newington at a world-class Holiday Food & Wine Tasting to benefit Ron Foley Pancreatic Cancer Foundation on Friday, November 11 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Stew Leonard's food store, located at 3475 Berlin Turnpike in Newington.  Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at Stew Leonard's Wines of Newington, located at the same address.

The Ron Foley Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, a charitable foundation formed to promote public awareness and funding for the early detection and cure of pancreatic cancer, was selected as the beneficiary for this special evening for reasons very personal to the Leonard family.  Former Stew Leonard’s Yonkers store president Tom Arthur, nephew of Stew Leonard’s founder Stew Leonard Sr and brother of Newington store president Dan Arthur, lost his own battle with Pancreatic Cancer in December 2010.charitable event formed to promote public awareness and funding for the early detection and cure for pancreatic cancer.

“We had so much interest from shoppers and friends to organize an event in honor of my brother Tom,” says Dan Arthur.  "This food and wine tasting will not only be celebration of his life, but a great way to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and help raise funds to find a cure.  We hope to make it an annual event.”
