Families, Including Pets, Invited to TD Bank 'Green" Branch Opening

To celebrate its newest retail store in West Hartford at Bishops Corner, TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, will host a community grand opening celebration on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the new store located at 319 North Main Street.

The new TD Bank store will target Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification based on overall environmental performance in six areas: the use of a sustainable site, low water usage, energy efficiency, the use of recycled materials, indoor environmental air quality and innovation and design.

To manage the new store and its employees that are hired locally, TD Bank has tapped Christina Denton for the job. As store manager, she will be responsible for new business development, consumer lending, and managing personnel and day-to-day operations.

Denton has been in banking for 10 years, starting at a small New York bank as a teller. After five years there holding various positions with increasing responsibilities, she came to TD Bank as store supervisor of a store in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She has spent the last year as store manager of TD’s Allen Plaza store.

She currently lives in Plainville, Conn., and is a native of Stafford, Conn. She sits on the board of the YWCA in New Britain, Conn., and other committees within that organization.

Entire families – including pets – are invited to participate at the grand opening celebration, which is free and open to the public and will include:

• Free hot dogs, bagged snacks, caramel and candy apples, soft drinks and bottled water
• Entertainment from a D.J., balloon artist, the TD mascot “TD,” and games
• Hourly, $100 TD Bank Visa Gift Card drawings starting at 11 a.m.
• A ribbon cutting ceremony at noon

Attendees will have a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree.

• Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
