West Hartford Sales Days run from Thursday, June 12 through Saturday, June 14, and business was brisk everywhere on Friday afternoon. At , Carin Buckman reported that the store had been busy all day.

Restaurants were enjoying good crowds on Friday as well. Despite the warm, humid weather, patrons were eating, drinking, and people-watching on outdoor patios.

had an extra attraction for its patrons. Friday the 13th was National French Fry Day – "Fryday" –  and the restaurant was giving away a free order of fries to each patron between 3 and 8 p.m.
