He's the Guy Behind West Hartford's 'Big Schmooze'

Eighties rock was playing, locally brewed beers were on ice, and snacks were within reach.

No, it wasn't a flashback to your greatest high school party. It was the scene at Advanced Chiropractic last Thursday night as Dr. Chris Chase got ready for the first "Big Schmooze" of 2014.

And as guests began arriving, the music was replaced by conversations among business professionals from the greater West Hartford area. Chase brought them together for a fun, casual networking event that he has dubbed "The Big Schmooze." He's hoping it'll become a quarterly thing.

A relative newcomer to the local business community, Chase is no stranger to West Hartford. The New Jersey native graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1992 and spent quite a bit of time in town during college.

His wife's family is from Connecticut, and after living in New Jersey — where Chase opened his first chiropractic practice — the couple decided to move to West Hartford with their two daughters.

Chase opened Advanced Chiropractic, which specializes in structural correction, and joined the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. He's been a regular at their networking events, and also has taken to blogging on Patch to connect with the community about his expertise.

He says you can always find him walking around town with his black lab, most times sporting a "Got Posture" T-shirt and jeans.

Advanced Chiropractic is located at 1032 Boulevard, Suite 1022, in West Hartford — across from The Spigot Cafe.

"That's what I say: right across from The Spigot," he laughs. "They immediately know where it is."
