Microsoft to Open New Store at Westfarms

Microsoft announced Monday that Westfarms Mall has been identified as one of approximately 30 locations for launch of a holiday store.

"We wanted to inform you that Microsoft is expanding its current retail footprint by announcing today the launch of more than 30 holiday stores in the U.S. and Canada, including a store in West Hartford, CT. These holiday stores will allow customers to have hands-on experience with and identify the best Microsoft products for their personal and gift-giving needs," the company stated in a news release on Monday.

According to the release, Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner announced the plan to open holiday stores at the company's recent Worldwide Partner Conference. The announcement said that the new stores "will provide consumers with excellent choice, value, service and an engaging way to experience the best of Microsoft’s products and services."

According to Microsoft, the stores will offer support and education to allow customers to "learn new technology skills and get the most out of their Microsoft-enabled devices."

In addition to Westfarms, other locations initially identified by Microsoft as sites for holiday stores include:
