New West Hartford Resident Opens Chiropractic Office

Dr. Chris Chase, who recently relocated to West Hartford, held a grand 'Spinally Open' party this week in his offices on Boulevard, at Prospect Avenue.

The examination tables are ready and the non-toxic rubber floors, made of recycled tires, are installed. Now, Dr. Chris Chase needs patients.

This week, Chase opened Advanced Chiropractic, at 1032 Boulevard. He held a “Spinally Open” party on Tuesday night, with food, drinks, gift bags with water bottles and cookies, and a coupon for his services.

A 1992 graduate of Central Connecticut State University, with a bachelor of science degree in health and fitness studies, Chase earned a doctor of chiropractic degree from Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA.

He opened his initial practice in 1998 in his native state of New Jersey. For 13 years, he operated this practice in Cape May, NJ. Then came the time he was ready to fulfill a promise he made to his wife Roseann, who grew up in Waterbury.

"I told her that we would move back to Connecticut after my parents passed away. Now we have made that move,” said the outgoing and enthusiastic Chase.

Chase’s practice focuses on what he calls “structural chiropractic,” the correction of the spine back to within normal range. This differs from traditional chiropractic services, which focus on decreasing pain, increasing range of movement and decreasing muscle spasms.

“I don’t perform patch-up care,” he said.

His approach to patient care is not for everyone, Chase stressed. For example, his practice is not the best solution for someone suffering a pulled muscle or requiring physical therapy. But he can help patients whose spinal structure may have shifted – employing the use of remodeling and correcting tables, structural exercises, and specialized structural massage.

Advanced Chiropractic offers complimentary consultations. Chase also plans to hold “Myths and Facts Nights,” during which prospective patients can attend informative lectures and ask Chase any of their questions.

Why West Hartford?

Chase, 42, thoroughly researched Connecticut communities to which he could relocate and settled on West Hartford because the Center reminded him of the quaint downtown in Cape May.

He searched for office space for a year and a half. He finally decided to open his practice in the Boulevard Shops, at Boulevard’s intersection with Prospect Avenue.

“I anticipate many of my clients will be coming to me after work or during lunch – so this location is great for access to downtown Hartford, right off I-84,” noted Chase. Among the many unique features of his office, he is especially proud of an enormous mirror he has hung in the restroom for clients who have to go back to work and need to have their business appearance back after an appointment.

Chase has been here for only six months, but he’s already a familiar face around town, dressed in his black “got posture” t-shirt.

He has volunteered for the Park Road Parade and participated in the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce golf tournament. He also plans to volunteer at a free clinic, like he did for the Cape May County Volunteers in Medicine.

His wife Roseann, an interior designer, now works at Calico Corners in Avon. The couple, who met in college, are the parents of two daughters, Morgan and Lauren, both students at Conard High School.
