Patrissi's Greenhouse Collapses, But Valentine's Day Will Go On

Weight of snow causes the greenhouse at the West Hartford nursery to collapse.

Patrissi Nursery wants everyone to know that they will be providing Valentine's Day service to West Hartford customers, despite the collapse of the greenhouse after last week's heavy snowfall.

The main greenhouse, which customers usually enter from the gravel lot on Ringgold St., remained in a collapsed state Tuesday afternoon, with plants, planters, and fixtures scattered and covered under a blanket of snow that entered through a gaping hold in the roof.

However, an alternate entrance for shoppers has been set up at the other end of the property

"It couldn't have happened at a more inopportune time," said Richard Patrissi, property owner, in an email.

According to Patrissi, despite the collapse a full selection of roses and fresh flowers will be available, as will florist services. More information is available at 860-233-5578.
