The long wait appears to be over for fans of Frank Pepe Pizza Napoletana of West Hartford.
The popular pizzeria located in Elmwood is scheduled to officially open on Monday at 10:30 a.m., according to a spokeswoman.
The restaurant is a 3,200-square-foot pizzeria located at 1148 New Britain Ave. (the former full site of the Puppy Center). Originally opened in New Haven, Pepe's is legendary for its pizza and known as one of the most popular pizzerias in the state if not the country.

"We’re ecstatic to be part of the Elmwood and West Hartford communities," said Stephen Molampy, Pepe's director of operations. "We’re looking forward to serving everybody a great product with a great history and heritage."
This is Pepe's seventh location, which includes New Haven, Fairfield, Mohegan Sun, Danbury, Manchester and Yonkers, NY.

"It’s been a great consistent product for many years," Molampy said of Pepe's. "[The West Hartford pizzeria] is in a great location and we have a very loyal customer base."
