Pinkberry's Grand Opening is Thursday at Westfarms

When Pinkberry "swirled into West Hartford" last September, the yogurt store was met with open arms and long lines in Blue Back Square.

When it opens its third store in the area, the chain's fifth Connecticut location, Pinkberry hopes for just as warm a reception.

“The recent openings in Blue Back Square, South Windsor, Greenwich and Fairfield have received a great reception from the Connecticut community,” said Pinkberry CEO Ron Graves in a news release. “We are thrilled to expand further with the opening of the Westfarms location,” he added.

The official first day of business of Pinkberry Westfarms will be on Friday, Oct. 12, but the store will host a grand opening event on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will include live music, free yogurt, Pinkberry t-shirts and more.

Pinkberry will be located on the lower level of Westfarms, near the Macy's Mens and Furniture Store in the Center Court.

According to Pinkberry representatives, the Westfarms Mall location will be serving six distinctive Pinkberry flavors:

• Signature Original flavor, a sweet and tangy yogurt with a refreshing finish;
• Coconut, smooth and subtle, made with real coconut puree for a fresh and cool finish;
• Peanut Butter, a perfect blend of salty and sweet; a bold and tangy Pomegranate made with 100% California-grown pure pomegranate juice;
• Mango, a fruity and light flavor made with authentic Alphonso mango puree; and
• Chocolate Hazelnut, decadent featured flavor made with creamy chocolate and a hint of sweet hazelnut.

An assortment of toppings, including fresh-cut fruit, are also available.

Yogurt will be available for immediate consumption, as well as take-out. The Westfarms location will feature "Pinkberry Take Home," – a 25-ounce package of Pinkberry, "swirled-to-order and packed on ice to ensure your Swirly Goodness will get home safely to your freezer."
