Readers Choice: Max's Oyster Bar Wins Favorite Spot When Someone Else Is Paying

The votes are in, and West Hartford readers chose as their favorite place to eat when someone else is paying. The Oyster Bar, which opened in 1999, has a popular bar, an extensive raw bar, and a dining room with high ceilings and a big city feel.

Max's Oyster Bar is part of the highly successful Richard Rosenthal restaurant group that includes Max's Burger Bar (also a nominee), Maxamia in Avon and Max Downtown in Hartford.

Second and third in the poll were and , both owned by chef Billy Grant.
