Unleaded Gas Will Sell for $2.50 Per Gallon at BJ's in West Hartford

BJ’s has announced a special deal for unleaded gas at its West Hartford store. 

The wholesale club will be celebrating the official start of the summer season by selling regular unleaded gas for $2.50 a gallon.  

The offer becomes effective beginning at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, and will be available only to the first 500 members to arrive. Purchases are limited to 50 gallons per member, according to a BJ's spokesperson.

Non-members who wish to purchase the discounted gas will have the ability to sign up for membership while in line for the gas.

Those first 500 members who purchase the discounted gas will also receive a highly-valued coupon sheet, a spokesperson said.

According to a news release from BJ's Wholesale Club, more than 34 million people traveled by car over Memorial Day weekend last year. "According to AAA Connecticut has been a state with gas prices well above the national average," stated the release, with price increases likely. 

"BJ’s wants to send out its members with a little extra cash in their pockets since Memorial Day (otherwise known as the unofficial kick off of summer) is expected again to be one of the largest car travel events of the summer season," stated the release.
