Ten Thousand Villages Makes it to the Big Screen
Or at least, one of their pillows did! Ten Thousand Villages in West Hartford, said that pillows from the Villages can be seen in “American Hustle,” a 2014 Academy Award nominee for best picture.

The Kalka Pillow is made by artisans of Aravali in India, according to a post on the Thousand Villages website.
The Vines of March
Supports the arts at the West Hartford Rotary Club’s Vines of March on March 8. The wine tasting and auction will benefit the rotary’s local initiatives, including the sixth grade writing project, the third grade dictionary project and the Gifts of Music program.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Mandell JCC, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.
Food will be provided by more than 10 local restaurants, including Beachland Tavern, Black Bamboo, Crown Market, Harry’s Bishop’s Corner Pizza, J Restaurant/Bar, Pond House Café, Shish Restaurant/Lounge, Umi Sushi & Tapas and Yosi Kosher Catering.
WFSB 3's Kara Sundlun and Dennis House are the honorary chairs and auctioneers and the wine tasting is hosted by Wine Cellars 4.
Tickets cost $50 and are available on the West Hartford Rotary website, in the West Hartford Center Branch of Farmington Bank or at Wine Cellars 4.
New Store Opens
The new Microsoft store in the Westfarms Mall celebrated its grand opening over the weekend! Welcome to West Hartford!
Acting Classes for Children
ShopRite in West Hartford, located at 46 Kane Street, will offer drop-in acting classes for children in grades K-5, led by Playhouse on Park. Visit the announcement on West Hartford Patch for more information.
