Welcome to this week's West Hartford Business Buzz!

Pond House Cafe has a pretty sweet offer for a couple looking to get married this year!

“We are looking for the perfect couple to host their wedding here at the Pond House Cafe on Halloween night this year, which is on a Friday,” Pond House Cafe wrote on its Facebook page. “That lucky couple will receive a free candy bar to add to the fun of the evening!”

At first, I pictured a giant candy bar for guests to share but it’s really a table of all different kinds of candy! You can see why Halloween night is the perfect night for a candy bar!

In the Mood for Ramen?

Umi Sushi + Tapas got rave reviews on CTnow.com, especially for its ramen dishes!

Tap Takeover

Sliders Grill and Bar in West Hartford is hosting a Long Trail Brewing Co. tap takeover from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.

Cost to attend is $25 per person. Call 860-233-9000 to reserve your spot. Hors d'oeuvres are included. Visit the Facebook event for more info or to RSVP.

Generation Y Wants to Hear From You

Generation Y, a fitness and party center in West Hartford, is hoping you’ll give them a review on Facebook and at least one other Internet website. Staff would love to give you a free T-shirt as a way of saying “thank you.”

“We value each and every family we serve and it means the world to us to hear your positive feedback,” staff wrote on the Generation Y Facebook page.

Save the Date

Free Cone Day is coming up on April 8 at Ben & Jerry’s of West Hartford!

I was married on Halloween night 26 years ago. If there are no takers we could do an anniversary party:-)

A friend of mine got married on Halloween too - she had a Renaissance-themed wedding - it was a lot of fun!
