West Hartford Holiday Stroll Set for Thursday

Holiday Stroll, which has been held annually for more than 30 years, draws crowds to Blue Back Square and the Center.

The streets of West Hartford will be full of holiday cheer this Thursday as the Center and the Square celebrate the annual Holiday Stroll.

The family-friendly event will take place on Dec. 6, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and will include performances by choral groups, dance groups, and bands, "live mannequins" in shop windows, and lots of tasty treats.

Windows have been festively decorated for the season, and merchants will offer special deals for the event. Horse drawn carriages will transport visitors throughout West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square.

"There will be a lot of hustle and bustle," said Rosie DeRobertis, president of the West Hartford Center Business Association.

DeRobertis said some of the highlights include performances by the high school jazz ensembles and a capella groups, Ballet Theatre Company dancing the Nutcracker in the lobby of Farmington Bank, a kletzmer band, Imagination Theater and Dance, and the Playhouse on Park Main Stage Singers.

"It's going to be a great night for everyone," said DeRobertis.

And, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, too.

A schedule of events can be found on the Center and Square Facebook page.
