West Hartford Residents Appointed to CBIA Board of Directors

John A. Green and Richard A. Laurenzi both take on four-year terms.

Those who serve on the board of directors of an association or non-profit are often the "unsung heroes" in our communities – giving their time, energy, and expertise freely to a cause in which they strongly believe. One role of "About Town" is to celebrate those individuals, by letting our readers know when fellow West Hartford residents take on such commitments.

At its Oct. 26 meeting in Hartford, the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected two West Hartford residents – John A. Green and Richard A. Laurenzi – to its board of directors.

The CBIA is one of the few associations that lobby for all types of business in the state – from the large conglomerates to the "mom and pop" companies. According to the CBIA website, they are "the leading voice at the State Capitol and before regulatory agencies for policies that promote economic growth, a fiscally responsible state government, and a dynamic business climate."
