West Hartford to Shish: Stop Advertising as a Nightclub

The town cited the Shish Restaurant and Lounge earlier in May for promoting itself as a nightclub, the Hartford Courant reports. Only restaurants, not nightclubs, are allowed in the area by zoning law.

West Hartford sent a clear message to the Shish Restaurant Lounge earlier this month: no nightclubs allowed.

According to the Hartford Courant, the town cited the business for promoting itself as a nightclub, as opposed to a restaurant. 

The Courant reports that the town's zoning rules specify that restaurants that primarily serve alcohol, instead of selling it as an accompaniment to hot meals, are prohibited, the Courant said.
