The former site of Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union, the stone ledge at this vacant property is a favorite spot for skateboarders to try out some of their moves.

What kind of business would you like to see here?

How about a credit union, as it was supposed to be? We don't need more rip-off conventional banks. We need more credit unions.

I totally agree with your suggestion Judy, our town certainly does not need a burger bar on every corner. I'd love to see some sort of community meeting place where residents and local vendors/artists could showcase their craft whether it be art, woodworking, design, etc. Maybe a gallery.

I'd like to see a fine arts center like they have in Hartford. A place for aspiring local artists, both professional and amateur to showcase their work. Art exhibits could be an excellent social event for our town.

A really great soup, salad and sandwich shop, healthy food for people on the go!

We had a place like that, Vals, remember??

I remember Vals, though it closed just after we moved to West Hartford. I love the idea of a soup, salad and sandwich place for a quick, healthy meal. Also love the arts center idea. Any others?

I think that west hartford planning should consider this site and the building to the south of this and the further two vacant building also on Raymond road along with the "forever going out of business rug gallery" east of the failed credit union bank together all this valuable land should support a boutique type hotel an amenity that the town of West Hartford is sorely missing-Look at the BIG picture! not at short term fill-ins!
