The Pita Group honored with two prestigious Marcom Awards

(Rocky Hill, Conn.- November 21, 2013) – The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) has presented The Pita Group with two Marcom awards – a Platinum and Gold award – for recent video work it completed for EyeFit Vision Centers and MassMutual.

The Marcom Awards honor creative, innovative and high quality work by professionals in the international marketing and communications field. Award recipients are selected from a pool of more than 6,000 entries each year.

The Platinum award is the highest honor given by the AMCP. Recipients are those who demonstrate excellence in quality, creativity and resourcefulness. The Pita Group’s work with EyeFit put them among the 19 percent of applicants who were honored with this recognition. The Gold award is reserved for entries that exceed the industry’s high standards.

Pita received the Platinum award for the “It’s Time Someone Takes Care of You” TV spots it developed as part of the EyeFit brand launch. To appeal to busy moms, the spots showcase the convenience, high quality of care and variety of eyewear they offer families – all under one roof.

The Gold award went to the online video series, “The Smart View”, Pita developed with MassMutual. On this online show,  three dynamic “hosts” of varying ages discuss popular retirement topics and concerns. Each of the episodes encourages viewers to engage with MassMutual on social media and/or take action with regard to their retirement account.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the AMCP for our work.,” said Paul Pita, Managing Partner and Executive Creative Director. “We had a lot of fun bringing our strategies for each client to life with this video work. For EyeFit, we put a humorous spin on the TV spots to show we know the challenges moms deal with on a daily basis. With MassMutual, we knew video was the way to capture people’s attention and increase information retention. We created each of the three host ‘characters’ to represent the three very different generations currently planning for retirement so that viewers could relate to the content. Both were challenging projects, but hugely rewarding and successful. We look forward to creating more award-winning work for both clients”

Other Platinum and Gold recipients include the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Colorado State University, Fidelity Investments, Nationwide Insurance and the American Heart Association.
