What is Toratenu Seeking?
· A Seventh Grade (B’nai Mitzvah) teacher
· A First & Second Grade teacher
· A Pre-K/Kindergarten teacher
Job Purpose for All Educators
· Promotes and nurtures the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study;
· Monitoring, assisting with and encouraging academic efforts;
· Providing a safe environment conducive to learning
· Keeping parents informed
Job Duties for All Educators
· Educates students by planning and developing course of study according to curriculum guidelines
· Tailors course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement
· Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques: examples include lectures, games, projects, exhibits, audio-visual and library resources
· Maintains order in the classroom by counseling students with behavioral problems, consulting with the Principal and Rabbi, where there appears to be issues
· Arrives at least fifteen minutes before class begins and remains at least fifteen minutes after class ends
· Attends biweekly staff meetings
· Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; reporting on all elements of student development at parent-teacher conferences, both regularly scheduled and as needed
· Updates job knowledge by attending community events, participating in educational workshops, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks
Job Hours
Depending on the position, your class may meet on Sunday mornings, Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings or some combination thereof and you may be required to work anywhere between 4-8+ hours per week.
