Summer Picnics by Café Louise

Summer Picnic Season is one of my favorite times of the year. Dining outside with friends and family is always so pleasant and relaxing to me. The sounds of the birds, smells of fresh herbs and flowers and all the lush greenery to observe make for happy times and memorable moments.

To help plan the perfect "Traveling Picnic" for outdoor concerts -- at Talcott Mountain or Tanglewood -- I thought I would provide you with a checklist of must-haves.

Wipes and Antibacterial Liquid

BUG SPRAY!

Candles, Sparklers

Colored Balloons (if you are in a large group not all arriving at the same time)

Deck of Cards or other Games, Books for the kids to pass the time

Corkscrew and Bottle Opener

Folding Chairs

Another picnic saving must-have are Ice Blankets which keep cold foods safe for hours. They are liquid filled cells that wrap around or lie on top of food platters. They are lightweight, reusable, flexible and a caterer must have for cold summer food platters. You can order them online from Uline.com
