The 3 Letters That YOU Don't Want To Skip Giving YOUR Newborn

It's safe to say, we all want what's BEST for our children. We want them to be healthy, happy and express their optimum potential. Doctors of all disciplines can agree that prenatal preparation and the first few years of your child's life are critical to healthy physical, mental and social development. This, I am sure you knew and can agree whole heartily.

You may of heard how vital nutrition can be for prenatal moms & babies, newborns, toddlers and children - specifically DHA.

The 3 letters That YOU Don't Want To Skip Giving YOUR Newborn, Toddler or Kindergartner...

DHA, here is why
...

Optimal nutrition is integral to a healthy pregnancy.   DHA is an essential fatty acid known to be critical during pregnancy and post-natal for the optimal development of your infant's eyes and brain.  Current research indicates an optimal average daily intake of at least 200 mg of DHA.

What exactly is DHA?

DHA is a essential fatty acid - essential as this word implies means, necessary, critical and must have in your diet for proper growth and development. This is a GOOD FAT. Awesome fat. Mainly and most abundantly found in cold salt water fish and lesser in flax and chia seeds.

Because...

Developing fetuses depend on their mother’s DHA stores for brain growth and maturation. The third trimester is a particularly important period as the fetus’ neurodevelopment is accelerated. During this period, DHA is used up rapidly by the unborn baby, and the pregnant woman’s stores may become depleted. Current research indicates an optimal average daily intake of at least 200 mg of DHA may support normal toddler development

Brain and nerve system development is vital to your babies normal growth and DHA is a vital factor for normal development. Unfortunately MOST moms and babies are not getting enough DHA.

As a Structural Chiropractor (which is different than a conventional chiropractor - not better, just different) who works with children for a variety  of Secondary Conditions such as, chronic ear infections, ADD/ADHD and asthma. One of the complementary recommendations I require is to have your child consume enough DHA. This is in addition to detecting and correcting any Structural Shifts in the spine that interfere with their nerve system.

As we all know, your nerve system including your brain are crucial for immunity (how well your child fights infections - ear infections for example), and for mental and proper social development, so it just makes complete sense to do two things, they are...

1.) Have your child checked for any structural shifts in their spine that interfere with your child's nerve system by a Structural Chiropractor - which is what I do very well.

2.)Make sure they have adequate amounts of DHA in their diet.
