Local Gymnasts Gather to Watch the Olympics
Young gymnasts from West Hartford, Simsbury, Avon, and Canton gathered at the Gymnastics Training Center in Simsbury to watch the Gymnastics All Around competition.
The Gymnastics Training Center in Simsbury spent Thursday afternoon cheering on USA Gymnastics team members Gabby Douglas and Ally Raisman during the Womens Gymnastics All Around Finals on the big screen!
Maya, 9, a West Hartford gymnast who trains at The Gymnastics Training Center in Simsbury, is battling Osteocarcinoma and was presented Thursday with a USA jacket signed by past Olympic gymnasts. Carly Patterson, Paul Hamm, Alicia Sacramone, John Roeslithberger, and Dominique Moceanu are a few of the gymnast who personalized Maya's jacket during the 2012 Olympic Trials in San Jose, CA.
