The Metropolitan District Commission announced Friday afternoon that its recreational facilities will be closed effective Sunday, Feb. 24 due to the approaching storm.
The affected facilities include the Farmington Ave. Reservoir, Reservoir #6 on Albany Ave., and the boat launch at Goodwin Dam-West Branch in Hartland.
The news release stated: "While the MDC regrets any inconvenience, this action is necessary to ensure the safety and security of all of our recreational users. The MDC will continue to monitor weather conditions and reopen the facilities as warranted."
