Last week's question was "What Are These Men Doing?" and although the answer should have been fairly obvious from the sign in the photo, only Dianne Rechel weighed in with a guess.

"Preparing for groundbreakng ceremony at 21 North Main?" she commented.

You're correct, Dianne! The official answer supplied by the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is: "West Hartford residents help to clear the land at 21 North Main Street before the YMCA-YWCA was built."

Just throwing a wild guess out there, but I'm going with Rockledge Golf Course - because it was opened by Mike Sherman, in 1924.

Thanks for the recognition, Ronni! As a Realtor, I am supposed to know something about the town, right? My guess on today's photograph would be the corner of New Britain Ave and South Main- from which the farm would have extended south and east??
