"A strike over wages in approximately 1972. Don't know what company," commented John Lyons. Keith Griffin asked, "Was there a WH teachers strike back then?"

Those responses combine to provide pretty much the exact right answer! According to the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society: "West Hartford teachers held a protest march on February 21, 1974. At issue were the teachers’ contracts."
