West Hartford Mayor Declares State of Emergency

CL&P unable to respond to calls for downed power lines.

As of 8:41 a.m. Sunday, West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka declared a state of emergency for West Hartford after receiving notification from CL&P that they have pulled their crews from the area and will not be able to respond to wires down. 

As of 9:30 a.m., there are 1033 customers in West Hartford without power.

West Hartford emergency crews will continue to protect affected areas.

This declaration comes at the request of Interim Fire Chief Gary Allyn who is overseeing the at 103 Raymond Road.

Chief Allyn strongly urges residents to stay in their homes and to not venture out for any reason.
