Last week's question was "Where Was this Restaurant Located?" and it inspired numerous memories of dinners and special celebrations spent at the South Seas Restaurant.

"It was most unusual in the 70s to have an exotic 'island' drink with all the garnishes and a classic luau and feel like you were on an island somewhere and then step outside to the reality of winter again ... a fun place," commented Mary Gustafson.

Wendy remembered the South Seas' waterfall garden, and Debi recalled the umbrella garnishes in all the drinks and that at her sister had a sweet 16 party there. Susan Wiley and Jackie – who loved her "Shirley Temple" – also remembered the umbrellas in all the drinks. Amy Goldman loved the Pu-Pu platter.

Not surprisingly, everyone who commented remembered where the restaurant was located. According to the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society, "The South Seas, a popular restaurant for many years, was
located on Farmington Avenue near the intersection of South Main Street."
