Copper Beech Institute: Center for Mindfulness

Awakening Courage, Faith and Compassion with Mindfulness Retreat with Sharon Salzberg

Copper Beech Institute, a new home in Connecticut for mindfulness, meditation, and contemplative practice, will host a retreat with renowned mindfulness teacher Sharon Salzberg, September 19-21. This period of practice will focus on the practical tools that help us go beyond our constricting habitual patterns, such as fear and denial, in order to enjoy greater and greater happiness.

Mindfulness training, the moment-to-moment awareness of our mind/body process with a calm and focused attention, is the fundamental tool of many ancient meditative traditions and new modern psychotherapeutic techniques. Awakening the inner capacities we all have, mindfulness meditation allows us to transform our worldview from one of isolation and confusion to one of connection, clarity and compassion. We will explore inner resources for activating creativity, vitality and a core sense of well-being, and ways to more fully experience and enjoy the precious moments of our lives. Suitable for both new and experienced meditators, the program will consist of guided meditations, talks and time for questions and answers. Tuition is $250 + Accommodations. Optional healing arts therapies are available. For more deals, visit: copperbeechinstitute.org/awakening-courage

Copper Beech Institute will host its formal opening in September 2014, with this retreat, an open house and a weekend of special activities. Workshops, retreats, conferences, and free will offering monthly mindfulness groups are planned through mid-2015, with additional events being scheduled for the 2015-2016 season.
