Batter Up! With Author Jane Leavy at the Mandell JCC; October 20, 2013

Enjoy a ballpark dinner, author talk and book signing at Batter
Up! With Author Jane Leavy
on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the
Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. This
event, sponsored by Fidelity Investments and his friends and family, is in
memory of Howard J. Siegal. All proceeds will benefit youth sports programs at
the Mandell JCC.



 



Jane Leavy is the
author of the New York Times bestsellers “The Last Boy,” “Sandy Koufax:
A Lefty’s Legacy,” and the comic novel “Squeeze Play,” which Entertainment
Weekly
called “the best novel ever written about baseball.” From 1978 to
1988, she was a staff writer at The Washington Post, where she covered
baseball, tennis, and the Olympics for the sports section, and later went on to
write for the style section. Before joining the The Washington Post, she
was a staff writer at womenSports and Self magazines. She has
written for many publications, including The New York Times, Newsweek,
Sports Illustrated, The Village Voice,
and The New York Daily News.
Leavy attended Barnard College and the Columbia University Graduate School of
Journalism.

sale at the Mandell JCC for $20 per person, and include the dinner, talk, and
book signing. Tickets must be purchased by October 13, 2013 through the Box
