Boating Safety Course in East Hartford

East Hartford –  The
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer an About Boating Safely class on November
16, 2013 at Goodwin College in East Hartford. . This 8-hour-long,
beginner boating class can be used to obtain a Connecticut Safe Boating
Certificate, which anyone 16 or older must obtain to legally operate any size
boat with a motor in Connecticut waters.



 



The one-day class will take place at Goodwin College, Room
311, Main Building, 1 Riverside Drive, East Hartford. Classes will run 8 am to
5 pm.

Course textbooks will be provided. Students should bring a
lunch, pencil and pen.  Those who
successfully finish will receive a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Certificate of
Completion.

The cost is $75 for individuals, $65 for each additional
family member taking the class at the same time and $45 for students and
faculty of Goodwin College with identification.



 



Topics include: Introduction to Boating; Boating Law; Boat
Safety Equipment; Safe Boating; Navigation Boating Problems; Trailering,
Storing and Protecting Your Boat; navigating rivers and other boating tips.
