Children's Play at Smith STEM School

Children’s Stage
Adventures
(CSA) will be conducting a weeklong theatre residency at Smith
STEM School at 64 St. James Street in West Hartford.  CSA will be producing a musical play called The
Fisherman and His Wife
, which will involve approximately 60-70
students.  The performances will take
place at Smith STEM School on Friday,
February 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. for the school and 7:00 p.m. for families and
friends
.

A favorite Grimm’s fairy tale comes to life on the stage in
this original adaptation of The Fisherman
and His Wife
.  When Will, the
fisherman, catches an enchanted fish it looks as if his luck has changed.  The fish offers him the chance to have his
dreams come true, but one wish leads to another and Will soon learns that if
you have happiness you have everything you need.

Students in grades 4 and 5 will be cast as actors/actresses,
chorus, and stage crew.  Students in
grade 3 will be cast in the chorus.

This is Children’s Stage Adventures’ fifteenth tour year.  CSA has traveled to more than 150 towns in
the northeast US and Canada casting more than 30,000 children in musical
productions.  Their residency at Smith
STEM School is made possible by funding from STEAM PM, American Savings Bank
Grant through The Bridge, and the Smith STEM PTO.

The audience is invited to bring cameras for the photo
session that will follow the play.  It is
requested that no flash photos be taken during the presentation.  Come out and support the youth of your
community while enjoying a great show.  We
are looking forward to a very exciting week!
