Come Together - Local Jewish Organizations Celebrate Sukkot with a Sukkah Open House; Sunday, September 22 & Monday, September 23, 2013

Come together as a community and celebrate Sukkot (the
Festival of Booths) with a Sukkah Open House, on Sunday, September 22 from 1:00
p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, September 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The
Sukkah Open House is free and open to the community.

Sukkot is celebrated 15 days after Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish
New Year), and involves setting up a temporary sukkah (booth) which is symbolic
of the homes in which the Israelites lived during their forty years of
wandering the desert. Throughout the holiday, events, meals, and family
gatherings take place in the sukkah.
