Concert and Crafts for Kids at the Mandell JCC's Fall Family Fun Day; Sunday, September 29, 2013
Get ready for hands-on fun and rockin’ ‘n rollin’ at the
Mandell JCC’s Fall Family Fun Day, which includes a performance by Rick Recht,
on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mandell JCC,
Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Fall Family Fun Day and the
Rick Recht Concert are both free and open to the community.
From 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., learn about the Coordinated
Approach to Children’s Health (CATCH), through fun competition-free and
confidence-boosting activities. The Mandell JCC’s Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early
Childhood Center is piloting CATCH, the nation’s largest school-based health
promotion study. Children have the opportunity to learn and value healthy
eating habits, gardening, and fun physical activities that are developmentally
appropriate.

From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be a Jewish
Community Fair, including activities for kids, PJ Library stories. Hands-on
crafts will take place from 3:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. In addition, the fair will include representatives from synagogues, day
schools and other agencies that serve the Greater Hartford Jewish
community. Then, at 4:00 p.m., get ready to jump around and jam out to
the rockin’ sounds of Rick Recht.

Rick Recht is a top-touring musician in Jewish music. He is
recognized for his appeal to audiences of all ages—toddlers, teens and
adults—through his musical talents, as well as his involvement in Jewish
culture. He is also the celebrity spokesperson for PJ Library, an international
family engagement program that provides free Jewish children’s books and music
to families on a monthly basis.
