Dance The Nutcracker With TANDUAY™ Asian Rum

TANDUAY Asian Rum has been named the official rum sponsor of CONNetic Dance’s production of The Nutcracker Suite & Spicy, returning for a fourth year with performances Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20-21, in The Aetna Theatre at The Wadsworth Atheneum. TANDUAY signature cocktails have been paired with each character in the performance including The Hot Sugar Rum with the Sugar Rum Fairy.
This year will feature some new twists and turns in the choreography, new characters, and a new backdrop design by artist Nina Salazar. Directed and choreographed by company Director Carolyn Paine, the show is now a Hartford holiday tradition.
The production is a totally different Nutcracker featuring the company’s signature style of fusion of athletic dance forms including tap, jazz, and hip hop and seasoned with their signature sense of humor. It starts out with an ugly Christmas sweater party scene, break dancing dolls brought by suave Drosselmeyer, and an athletic and dizzying "snow ball" snow scene.
In Act 2 the audience meets sexy hip hop Sugar Rum and the Florettes — a high kicking waltz of the flowers inspired by the Rockettes. It is all set to a fun compilation of diverse music inspired by Tchaikovsky’s classic score and served up with delicious Tanduay Asian Rum cocktails.
Performances will be held from 8-10 p.m. both nights. The Wadsworth Atheneum is located at 600 Main St., Hartford. For ticket information, call 860-251-9194.
