Celebrate a Weekend of Purim Fun with Beth El Temple!

Please join Beth El Temple for a weekend full of Purim Celebrations!  We begin on Saturday evening February 23rd at 7:30 p.m. for a full reading of Megillat Esther (The Scroll of Esther) as we usher in the holiday of Purim.  There will be graggers (noisemakers) and lots of hamantashen as we celebrate the victory of the Jews of ancient Persia over the evil Haman.  Following the evening service and the reading of the Megillah, please join us for an adults-only Karaoke Party with hors d'oeuvres, desserts and refreshments.

On Sunday February 24 Beth El Temple invites you to join us in two family Purim programs.  At 10:30 a.m. you can participate in an original Purim Shpiel that is sure to be lots of fun.  Come hear about "Shushan Girl" as talented JCC Theater Director Carolyn Mostel Weiser directs “A Billy Joel Purim”, with musical arrangements by Emily Weiser. The Shpiel will be followed by our annual Purim Carnival at 11:30 a.m. with plenty of games and prizes for children of all ages.  A scrumptious lunch can be purchased in the Shushan Café.

Finally, if you have young children who want to join in the fun, please join us in costume for our Early Childhood Celebration for children ages 5 and under on Sunday February 24th at 11:00 a.m.  Rabbi Garber and Barbara Checknoff will engage the children in Purim stories and songs, followed by an Early Childhood mini-carnival.
