GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS CELEBRATION


SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16 – GIRLS IN SPORTS DAY: A
full day of activities for girls only, ages 8 through 14. The event consists of
interactive skill sessions of various sports taught by the University’s coaches
and student athletes which will include: lacrosse, volleyball, cheerleading,
softball, soccer, swimming, basketball, athletic training and cross-country
running. Contests and lunch will follow the sports clinics and an NCAA
basketball game – University of Saint Joseph vs. Rivier College – wraps up the
afternoon festivities. Participants are to come dressed and ready to take an

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at The
University of Saint Joseph O'Connell Athletic Center, 1678 Asylum Avenue, West
Hartford. Admission: free of charge; advance registration required.
