University of Saint Joseph faculty and students are working across disciplines with an inner city charter school to understand how, why, where and when bullying occurs and to develop programs designed to increase mutually respectful interactions among all participants in the school environment. First to eighth grade students, teachers, families, administrators and staff members are all given a voice in the needs assessment and positive school climate initiatives. A graduate student participant will share her story of a transformative experience with these inner city elementary students and reflect on how this field experience has shaped her professional identity and prepared her for future practice.
