New Date! Israeli Author Etgar Keret Mandell JCC Jewish Book Festival Event Rescheduled to December 10, 2012

The Mandell JCC has rescheduled its Jewish Book Festival opening event featuring Etgar Keret, acclaimed Israeli filmmaker and author of Suddenly, A Knock on The Door, to Monday, December 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. This event, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, November 18, was postponed when Keret returned home to be with family due to the recent events in Israel.

Suddenly A Knock on the Door, a collection of short stories, is currently listed on Amazon.com’s Best Books of the Year: Top 100 Picks for 2012 and the Huffington Post’s Best Books of the Year list. Keret, whose bestselling books have been published in 31 languages and 35 countries, will join David Edelstein, West Hartford native and film critic for New York Magazine, in conversation on Monday, December 10, 2012. Keret’s writing has been published in The New York Times, Le Monde, The Guardian, The Paris Review and Zoetrope.

Keret has also written several feature screenplays, including Skin Deep (1996), which won First Prize at international film festivals and was awarded an Israeli Ophir film prize, as well as Jellyfish, which won the coveted Camera d'Or prize for best first feature at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival 2007.
