Do you love romances, mysteries, thrillers, women's fiction, sciencefiction, fantasies or other types of genre novels? Are you writing one or just thinking about it? This course analyzes and discusses the nature of genre fiction and what makes it work. At the end of this course, you will better appreciate genre novels and be better equipped to write your own.
This class, which is being offered for the first time, is being taught by Peter Kassan, a Connecticut writer whose paranormal novel, Lightpoints, is being published by Melange Books (www.melange-books.com). Mr. Kassan’s background includes a stint as a staff writer for Children’s Comedy Workshop, where he wrote, among other things, monologues for Bill Cosby. Mr. Kassan also serves as Peer Facilitator of the Bloomfield Writers’ Group, which meets at the Prosser Public Library in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Mr. Kassan is currently working on a romance novel, which he is writing under a pseudonym, and a science fiction novel for young adults.
