  West Hartford Women in Networking to host Director of the Wadsworth Atheneum Susan Talbott.Thursday February 28, 2013 starting at 7:45 AM.  Chatfield, One Chatfield Drive, West Hartford (off New Britain Ave. behind Sears) Susan L. Talbott became Director and CEO of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in May 2008 to much acclaim.  Since then a few of her accomplishments are: she has completed a major renovation, advanced the exhibition and acquisition program and stabilized the museum’s financial operation.  She is the curator of Patti Smith: Camera Solo, which is touring in the US and Canada. Her previous appointment was Director of Smithsonian Arts at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. from 2005 to 2008, where she provided leadership and support for nine art museums and organizations. Talbott’s experience includes seven years as Director of the Des Moines Art Center from 1998 to 2005 and she was Executive Director of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, from 1992 to 1998. Talbott was Director of the Visual Arts Program of the National Endowment of Arts from 1989 to 1992, and from 1982-1989, Talbott was Director of two branch museums of the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she also led curatorial and public programs. A light breakfast will be served.  Further information is available at www.westhartfordwomeninnetworking.com

Hi Barbara, We are so sorry this happened. Last night we added 200 sites to our great new BetaRead More platform and we think that made our newsletter server go haywire. Our engineers are hard at work to fix this bug and we are hopeful that things will be much smoother on Thursday.
