Gabriella's Annual Scoop Night to Benefit Connecticut Children's Medical Center

Gabriella’s 5th Annual Scoop Night will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, 5 ½ South Main Street, West Hartford. Gabriella, family and friends are celebrating her 10th birthday by scooping ice cream to raise money for Connecticut Children's Medical Center. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the new state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Care Center.

Gabriella Giordano, who will turn ten on August 28th, had successful open-heart surgery in 2008. Her surgery was performed at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Gabriella's Scoop Night is a way for the Giordano family to celebrate Gabriella’s birthday and give back to Connecticut Children’s. Gabriella is a resident of West Hartford and will be attending fifth grade at Norfeldt Elementary School this fall.

Event is open to the public, and includes live music by local band, Fat Grip, children’s activities and door prizes, as well as celebrity scoopers, including Gabriella’s doctors, teachers, coaches, WFSB Channel 3 News Reporter Susan Raff, 96.5 TIC FM Radio Host Gina J, State Senator Beth Bye and West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka.
