Mandell JCC Hartford Jewish Film Festival Closing Night Film and Reception

HUNTING ELEPHANTS (Israel, 2013 107 minutes, English and Hebrew with English subtitles)Director: Reshef Levi

This comedy crime-caper is the story of a clever kid, three old men, and a bank just waiting to be robbed. Jonathan is a boy genius whose closest friend is his father, Daniel, a bank security guard. When Daniel dies suddenly at work and the bank refuses to pay his pension, Jonathan recruits an unlikely trio of misfits to save him and his clueless mother from losing everything. With the help of his cranky grandfather Eliyahu (Sasson Gabai), wily friend Nick (Moni Moshonov) - both pre-State Jewish underground fighters - and his great-uncle, a disgraced British Lord and flamboyant actor (Sir Patrick Stewart) Jonathan comes up with a crazy revenge plan. A Closing Night Reception and musical performance by the Lamar Duo, Leana (piano) and Mickey (violin) Reisman will follow the film.
