NEW LOWER PRICE for Fishing for All Generations with the Elmwood Senior Center -  $5 covers the entire family!

(One 2 hour evening class and a separate daytime field experience)

Are you looking for a traditional pastime that can bring your family together? Fishing is the perfect activity for all generations.  It’s important to learn the basics in order to become a successful angler.  During the 2 hour classroom session certified CARE (Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education) instructors from the Department of Energy and Environment will teach you about:

• Fishing, tackle and how to tie the perfect fishing knot

• Casting a rod for accuracy

• Use of the CT Anglers Guide to learn about regulations, licenses, and where to fish

• Natural baits - how to find your own or where you can purchase it

• How to identify different fish species

• How to clean and cook your catch

• How to become an ethical angler and protect our aquatic environment

Your fishing field trip will be led by certified CARE instructors. Meet these fishing experts at a local hotspot to put what you learned in the classroom into practice. All necessary educational supplies and fishing equipment will be provided. Your only obligation is to bring your own bait to the field trip. Field trips are typically 4 hours long. Price includes all family members and both clinics. Bring a picnic lunch!

Class: Thursday, October 3, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Field Trip: Saturday, October 5, 9:00 a.m.  - 1:00 p.m. (included)
