Native American Remembrance Day. - More than Casinos and Rainforests: Contemporary Indigenous Peoples, Contemporary Challenges and Opportunities - Indigenous Peoples of the Western Hemisphere have survived virgin soil epidemics, genocidal wars, forced relocation and loss of homelands, and forced legal eradication.  However, one of the most significant, and overlooked, challenges we still face today are rooted in stereotypes and the bias created by them, whether it be the writings of Columbus, Papal Bulls, or media.  This service will discuss how some very current issues have very old origins, and how we as Unitarian Universalists committed to anti-oppression and anti-racism might be called to address them.
